With all the news lately about alleged excessive lead levels and questions about product safety and the FDA jumping in, Mannatech took no time in announcing that several of their products have been certified by NSF International an accredited testing laboratory.

The products, Ambrotose and Advanced Ambrotose Glyconutritional Supplements have had the purity of the products tested and reviewed and determined as being pure and safe.

NSF is a public health certification organization that works to review products and certify the efficacy of statements made on the labels. NSF reviews the contents of products and tests them to make sure that all ingredients present in the supplements are listed on the label and are safe for consumption. Rather than simply testing products, the NSF also requires visits to the manufacturing facility before they were complete the certification.

After careful evaluation of the two products, NSF found that they met requirements of the NSF/ANSI 173 Dietary Supplement Standard which is the only American National Standard for dietary supplements. Mannatech will be proudly displaying the NSF seal on their supplements and will put notice of the certification in all of their consumer product information material.

“NSF certification is just one part of the extraordinary quality and purity measures Mannatech adheres to throughout its product management process,” said Marika Berkley, vice president of global regulatory affairs and quality assurance. “In addition to selecting ingredients that meet our rigorous purity standards, Mannatech ensures all its manufacturers adhere to industry-standard GMPs. We continually monitor our manufacturing partners and conduct frequent in-house and independent tests of the efficacy and purity of our products.”

This is a great accomplishment for the company, and actually for any company, especially companies that sell dietary supplements. Dietary supplements are not as stringently tested and many are sold without having to meet any kind of safety requirements. Within the MLM industry there has been so much talk lately about high lead levels, especially with Herbalife which is being sued for dangerous lead levels in products. Just to stay in business, it might soon become necessary to have products tested and certified for safety.

Gull Holdings, founded and led by Myron Wentz, the Founder and CEO of USANA has raised their bid to take USANA private. The new bid is a two dollar increase over the previous bid, taking it to $28 dollars per share (which we still don’t think is nearly enough). The original bid of $26 dollars per share was unanimously rejected by both the minority shareholders, and a special committee appointed by the board to review the bid.

In the last week, USANA has been faced with not one, but two lawsuits by minority shareholders who feel that Gull Holdings along with Wentz and other majority shareholders, are trying to low ball the minority shareholders and are underestimating the future value of the company. Both lawsuits are now in court seeking approval to become class action suits.

The Wentz family, along with other majority shareholders control 68% percent of the company. After the initial bid was rejected, Wentz stood firm saying that they would not increase the bid. However, with increasing pressure from the special board committee and the remaining shareholders, “Wentz has given in”.

Because one of the original goals in taking the company private was to eliminate frivolous lawsuits, it is a smart move on Gull’s part to increase the bid before the two pending lawsuits became worse. Gull has said that this is the highest price permitted to meet its debt financing commitment but we firmly believe it wont be nearly enough. In January of this year, the stock was trading at $43 per share so to think the shareholders will take such a discount seems impractical. Hopefully the two sides can reconvene and come to an agreement soon.

Just in time for the Olympics, Nikken has announced that they are teaming up with former gymnast Shannon Miller to fight childhood obesity. Miller is the most decorated American Gymnast of all time, with 7 Olympic Medals. Miller worked with Nikken to design the bracelet and had final say on its design.

Nikken will donate a portion of all sales from the special edition bracelet to the Shannon Miller Foundation for education and the prevention of childhood obesity and other related diseases.

Science has discovered that magnet therapy can aid athletes in recovery and lessen the strain of an injury. The TriPhase bracelet aims to reconstruct or simulate the magnetic flow that occurs naturally in the earth, around the human body. The TriPhase Sport Bracelet is specially designed to incorporate the basic healing effects of magnets with far-infrared technology and negative ions.

Nikken has an entire line of these bracelets available for men and women; however this one, designed with the help of Miller herself, will only be available for a limited time. Its item #19090 and retails for $35. plus tax and shipping.

The bracelet is actually really cool. It’s is black with gold accented clasps and reads, Discover it, Live it. You can buy the bracelet on the Nikken website or call your local distributor. You can also visit the Shannon Miller Foundation site to get more information on the cause.

Many networkers diligently seek how to build MLM successfully. Unfortunately, for some, the journey is not pleasant and they end up becoming frustrated and even quitting in some cases. What they fail to realize is that there are 6 mistakes that many people in MLM are making. By becoming aware of what these mistakes are and learning to avoid them, they can get back on the road to success. If you want to learn how to build MLM, take a close look at these 6 biggest mistakes made in network marketing and do the opposite!

*Mistake #1: Not having a business owner’s mentality. There is too “employee minded” mentality for many in MLM. When a person starts their business, they should view themselves as the CEO and president. This means creating a plan and taking action consistently to achieve success. It also means taking responsibility for when things go well or don’t. It does not mean working the business when you feel like it, working hard for a month, and then stopping for two, etc. This business should be treated like any other. Anyone with a “follower” mentality or wanting to sit around until they are told what to do will be in for a struggle. After all, this is “network marketing” and not “net free”.

*Mistake #2: Failing to make decisions. Unfortunately, some desire to know how to build a successful MLM, but never take the time to figure out their “why”; why they want to do this business and what kind of incredible life changes will be the outcome of their success. If the reason is “just for the money”, a networker will not be around long. Some too, never make a decision to succeed. They will say things like “try”, “I’ll do my best”, “I’ll give it a shot”, etc. There never is “I will do whatever it takes to be successful”. If a networker has not made this crucial decision, prospects will pick up on it and figure it’s not worth joining if it’s going to dull and just like another 9-5 job.

*Mistake #3: Expecting too much too soon. Many prospects are given the impression that building mlm is easy, anyone can do it, and the money will start rolling in very quickly. Now, there are some who do come in and explode, but these cases are rare. Most people can’t make loads of money that quickly. There is a learning curve and everyone’s pace is different. Too many prospects are presented with hype and get rich quick scenarios. This is falsely leading them and anyone who uses these techniques will find it difficult to successfully build MLM. It is ok to show people how the business can be exciting with huge potentials but it needs to be presented realistically.

*Mistake #4: Work is done in spurts. If a networker is seeking how to build MLM successfully, working in spurts will doom them to failure. Work done in spurts is working for a few days and then stopping for a few, or working hard for 5 months, and then doing nothing for the rest of the year. What is needed is constant and consistent action, even if little results are seen at first. The work in spurts actions will only result in frustration and for some, quitting the business.

Mistake #5: Thinking it’s just a numbers game. While it is true a networker will likely talk to many people before finding a true leader, having the mentality of all that is needed to do is buy lists, talk to a certain amount of people, and then the business will explode is flawed. MLM is all about relationships, and not calling 100 people in day and expecting 30 to join on the spot. MLM is about helping others achieve their goals and dreams and this can only be done by taking the time to get to know people. Extraordinary results can be achieved when rich relationships have been developed.

*Mistake #6: Failing to develop leaders. When it comes to how to build MLM successfully, many networkers fail to realize that extraordinary results can be found not with 100 distributors, but leaders who can successfully build big downlines. In many cases, this may only be 3-4 people. You want to be a leader who breeds leaders who are independent. You train, teach, and show them how to build the business, and then let them build their teams. You teach vision, principles; skills that will help them achieve success. Yes, this is work, but the value of true leader is tremendous. Remember, this is network marketing and not net welfare, net free, etc. It is much better to spent lots of time with 3 or 4 leaders who will multiply leaders in their teams, then have a mass of distributors.

So, if you want to know how to build MLM successfully, avoid the top 6 mistakes that were covered. Build your MLM business the right way, become a leader with vision and seek to find others who are true leaders. Have a powerful why and not do the business just for the money. If you build your business this way, you will find success.
