So we received an email and also had one of our great readers post this info as well. Seems like Weekenders is liquidating its inventory here in the US at absurdly low prices. Our guess is that they are going to use the proceeds to help repay some debt and mounting lawsuits.

This sale is a cash and carry sale, and will be held from December 1, 2008 to December 13, 2008. (Sorry, we do not have card processing facilities) Hours are 10A.M. to 6 P.M Monday to Saturday, and Sunday, 1 P.M. to 5 P.M.

Natural Health Trends, NHT Global, has appointed Joe Wood as the Company’s new Chief Operating officer. The company made the announcement Monday afternoon. Mr. Wood will be responsible for product development, marketing, business support and supply chain management.

Mr. Wood has been with the company since 2003 and previously served as the company’s President of NHT Global North Asia where he lead the Korean and Japanese markets. Wood started up operation in Korean and built the company’s business from the ground up. In lieu of the promotion, Ted Kwon has been appointed as the new President of the Korean subsidiary.

Mr. Kwon was previously the Chief Financial Officier of the Korean subsidiary and has previously worked for several other health and nutritional product companies.

Chris Sharng, President of Natural Health Trends says that the company is excited about both new appointments. “I believe that Joe’s experience with and passion about products match perfectly with our strategic emphasis on providing superior products to our members to realize their well-being or aspiration. Michael O. Johnson, Chairman and CEO of Herbalife was honored last week by A Place Called Home. Johnson was one of several people honored by A Place Called Home, a non profit youth center, at its 15th annual “Gala for the Children.”

A Place Called Home was founded in 1993 by Debrah Constance, to provide at risk youth with a positive, safe environment where they can learn valuable life skills. The organization also provides a safe haven for youth to keep them free of the influences of drugs and gangs.

Johnson received the Debrah Constance Humanitarian Award, named after the organizations founder, for founding the Casa Herbalife Program to help children around th world receive proper nutrition. Johnson founded Casa Herbalife in 2005 and today there are 40 Casa Herbalife programs in location all over the world, with plans for 15 more to be up and running by the end of 2009. A place Called Home was the first Casa Herbalife partner charity.

The event was held at the Beverly Hilton, other honorees included Adam Fogelson, president of marketing and distribution of Universal Pictures and Sheila and John Bryant, founder, chairman and CEO of Operation HOPE. Hosting the event was American Idol judge Randy Jackson and the even also included a performance by Idol finalist Syesha Mercado.
