Two years ago, the Soap and Detergent Association  issued a challenge to manufacturers to develop environmentally friendly dishwashing detergents. The deadline for the challenge was set for July 1st of 2010. Amway Global has just announced that they have succeeded in the challenge, beating the deadline by almost two full years.

Amway has just announced the development of DISHDROPS, a phosphate-free automatic dishwasher detergent powder. The SDA says that between now and 2010, at least eight, and as many as all 50 states will drastically limit the use of phosphates in automatic dishwasher detergents.

Phosphates are chemicals common in many cleaning products. Although they are chemical required for plant growth, in high numbers they can lead to excessive algae growth which leads to a chain reaction of overgrowth, bacterial development and eventual contamination of water and fish death.

Amway has gone above and beyond in the development of this new detergent. Amway’s DISHDROPS has a patent pending technology that the company says performs better than most common dishwasher detergents, event those that contain phosphates. The new formula, which is all natural and chemical free, contain enzymes and oxygenators which power away food and grease. The formula is super concentrated with only one tablespoon required per wash.

Amway not only released a phosphate-free formula before it was required to do so, but it developed an alternative before many of the leading, competitive brands. Even better, DISH DROPS Phosphate-Free has patent-pending technology that is shown to perform better than most common dishwasher detergents, even those which contain phosphates. It has a planet-sensitive formula that combines enzymes and oxygenators with naturally-derived cleaning factors to power away food and grease easily. It’s super concentrated and requires less than one tablespoon per dispenser cup.

The Dish Drops brand was launched in 1963. The line has always consisted of environmentally friendly products that aim to protect the environment. DISH DROPS products, including the new detergent are now available through independent distributors as well as through the Amway website.
