The NAWIC, was founded in 1955 in Fort Worth Texas. Since 1995, they have awarded the Crystal Vision Award to women who have made a difference for others within the construction industry. The Association has over 5,000 members in 170 chapters across the United States.
Tomboy Tools was founded 8 years ago by Rickstrew along with Mary Tatum. The two women saw a need for tools that were both appealing and easy to use for women who wished to do their own home projects. The Tomboy Tools are smaller and slimmer, especially designed for a woman’s hand. Since 2000, the Colorado Company has expanded to Canada and the UK.
