Shaklee (better known for their green products) has joined together with University of California Berkley School of Public Health to do a comprehensive study of Shaklee supplements.
The study was conducted the study on people who used multiple Shaklee supplements (Vitalizer) over a long period of time. That group was compared to a group of subjects who either took only one multi-vitamin, or took nothing at all.
The test subjects for the study were Shaklee members who have been with the company for at least 20 years. Shaklee’s goal in conducting the study was to learn more about long term nutritional status of people who used multiple supplements and if possible, compare and contrast the results with other who took nothing or only one supplement.
The study found that those who took multiple supplements over the extended time period had better blood nutrient levels and better health status than those who take only one multi-vitamin, or those who take nothing at all.
One interesting finding was that Shaklee users who took a variety of supplements had only 2.9 cases of diabetes per 100 people compared to 11 cases per 100 people in the group who took only a single multi-vitamin. Bio markers for stroke, heart attacks, emphysema, triglycerides, and congestive hear failure were also much lower in the Shaklee group than in the group who took only 1 supplement or nothing at all.
all in all this was a pretty good study and I am sure we will be seeing more of them given that the Shaklee group also reported better overall health than the other group.
