Amway Global announced it will be the Presenting Sponsor for the NBC Holiday Celebration on Ice event featuring entertainers Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith. National, World and Olympic figure skaters will skate to the music of the season, provide by Grant and Smith. The skating cast is highlighted by Olympic Silver medalist and U.S. National champion Nancy Kerrigan and six-time U.S. champion Todd Eldredge, to name a few.

The ‘NBC Holiday Celebration on Ice, Presented by Amway Global’ is scheduled to air nationally on NBC stations Nov. 30, 2008. The actual event will be taped Nov. 11, 2008 at The Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.

As Presenting Sponsor, the Amway Global name will appear in television advertising surrounding the telecast, print materials, and event signage. ARTISTRY Skin Care and Cosmetics, an Amway Global brand, also will have a special opportunity to share product information and samples with fans in attendance, while the program will showcase Artistry’s ‘Beauty Begins with Heart’ cause marketing program benefiting Easter Seals.

‘We are very excited to be part of this unique holiday event,’ says Steve Lieberman, Managing Director for Amway Global. ‘This event captures the spirit and warmth of the season and we are proud to be associated with the quality of the performers and skaters involved.’

The sponsorship is part of a larger Amway Global investment to help build public awareness of its business opportunity and products in North America. The company, which had operated under the Quixtar brand for most of the past decade, is transitioning to the Amway Global name by 2009.

On the ice, Kerrigan and Eldredge will be joined by Olympic champion Ilia Kulik, World champion Yuka Sato, six-time Canadian National champion Jennifer Robinson, and World ice dancing champion and nine-time Canadian National champion Shae-Lynn Bourne. Two-time World Silver medalist ice dancing champions Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon, plus three-time World Silver medalist Surya Bonaly and three-time U.S. champion and World Bronze medalist (with partner Kyoko Ina) John Zimmerman, will make for an incredible holiday celebration.

Amway announced that they will launch a mobile brand experience tour in the US to raise awareness of two of its flagship brands, Nutritlite - the dietary supplement subsidiary of Amway, and Artistry, a skin care and cosmetics line.

The mobile tour will feature two customized motor coach buses and will travel to over 20 cities across the US during the fall of 2008. The tour will follow the Amway Global sponsored, Tina Turner Live in Concert tour which begins October 1st.

“This campaign is unlike anything Amway Global has done before,” says Steve Lieberman, Managing Director of Quixtar North America/Amway Global. “We’re incredibly proud of our ARTISTRY and NUTRILITE brands, but they’ve been two of the world’s best-kept secrets. We intend to change that by literally taking these brands on the road and introducing them to consumers. We’re excited to take to the streets, show consumers what we’re all about, and support the Independent Business Owners (IBOs) who sell these products and have made these brands global leaders in their categories.”

Artistry and Nutrilite, although not well known brand names, generate over a billion dollars in sales globally each year. Artistry itself generates over a billion dollars, and has been one of the top five best selling cosmetics brands around the world for over 7 years. Nutrilite, based on 2007 sales, is the leading brand of vitamin and mineral supplements in the world. Amway hopes that this mobile experience will make more consumers aware of that. Amway wants new and existing Amway customers to become aware of all of Amway Global’s brands and products, as well as the opportunity the company provides for independent representatives.

The customized coaches will include lounges for sampling Artistry and Nutrilite products, a spa station and interactive presentations outside the coach to teach new consumers about the products. The experience will also include a decked out semi trailer that will provide health assessments for those interested in the Nutrilite vitamins and minerals.

The mobile tour, along with the Amway Global Presents Tina Turner Live in Concert Tour, will kick off in Kansas City, October 1st. While Tina Turner will tour do over 36 concerts in 20 US and Canadian cities, the mobile branding tour will only follow Turner on the US stops in 2008. 2009 tour dates will be announced later in the year.

Amway is hoping that the tour will raise awareness of the company’s vast array of products. Currently, Amway operates as Quixtar in the US, however, they will be transitioning back to the Amway Global brand in 2009.

I too did not realize that the Philippines had a fashion week, but they do, and the week features a distinguished list of designer runway shows held at the SMX Convention Center.

The show began May 26th and goes on for nine days. Artistry cosmetics will be used for all runway shows during the week long event, including a 15 minute themed fashion show that will feature the debut of Victor Ortego who will is the new chief makeup artist of the Artistry Brand.

Amway has been distributing Artistry products in the Philippines since 2001, but did not begin full operations there until 2005. Currently Artistry offers 100 of its 400 products in its line in the Philippines. The Amway Artistry line, is the only direct sales skin care line that is classified as a “prestige” brand, along with such companies as Clinique, Lancome and Chanel and ranks in the top 5 among cosmetics lines available globally.

Along with fashion week, Amway and Artistry have set up a Brand Experience Center featuring many of their cosmetics and skin care products, as well as Amway’s other top seller, Nutrilite, a line of vitamins and minerals. The 400 square foot center hopes to bring awareness of company products and answer questions about Amway, as well as to shine some line on opportunities offered by the company to its distributors.

Suzanne Comagon, Corporate Services Manager told reporters how thrilled Amway was to be a part of the exciting week in the Philippines. “We have been asked before to be part of the Fashion Week, but it is only this year that we felt that it is the right time for us to showcase what Artistry has to offer to the public.”
