EcoQuest has announced that they have formed a partnership with the American Lung Association. The company caught the eye of the American Lung Association after unveiling its newest air purification product at their national convention.

Over 2,500 distributors gathered earlier this month in Kansas City, as EcoQuest held its national convention and launched the “Gemini” its first indoor purification product. The “Gemini” is a NASA inspired ActivePure Technology with a HEPA Filter.

The American Lung Association was so impressed with the new indoor filter, that not only did they purchased a supply of the new purification products, but they have also asked EcoQuest to be a sponsor of this years ALA Healthy Air Walk.

The Gemini’ combines the HEPA carbon filtration system with EcoQuest’s Ozone free Active Pure Technology, which combines ultra violet photo oxidation and pulse ionization to purify and clean the air. Ecoquest says that the Gemini can cover over 300 square feet for pollen and particulate reduction, and up to 1,500 square feet to reduce germs on surfaces killing germs and mold and reducing smoke and odors.

EcoQuest President Mike Letts said, “We are excited to partner with the American Lung Association on this important cause.” Mike Jackson, EcoQuest’s CEO and principal owner, added, “Working with the American Lung Association to raise awareness about the problem of poor air quality just makes sense. We appreciate the opportunity to get the word out on this fantastic, educational event.”

While I’m not really sure about the technology itself, the Gemini seems to be a great machine with the ability to help clean the air and kill germs and mold. In today’s environment where there are so many irritants in the air, inside and outside, it’s great to have an effective way to clean the air and protect yourself and your environment. And although I don’t understand the technology behind the Gemini, if it’s good enough for the American Lung Association to approve of and partner with, I trust that it works.

Executives at EcoQuest International - the Greeneville-based manufacturing and marketing company that will be launching a new product through its commercial division, ActivTek called PowerwoRx.

The company said in a current release that this product will be the “first product in a new line that will fight rising energy costs.” The PowerwoRx is a power management system that will work with the homes current electrical system to maximize efficiency. The System will provide electrical noise filtration as well as electrical surge protection all with the added benefit of increased electrical efficiency.

I do not fully understand the PowerwoRx system, but EcoQuest President Mike Letts explains it all to us……”The PowerwoRx provides three key benefits — energy savings, equipment protection, and electrical noise filtration.” He went on to explain, “Line noise causes lots of damage to modern televisions, computers, and 21st century electronics. The System reduces the amount of power drawn from the utility by using capacitors to store electricity that is usually lost. The power management system in the PowerwoRx supplies that stored electricity back to the system, causing a decrease in demand and less electricity to be used.”

According to testing done by the company, PowerwoRx users have seen up to a 25% percent reduction in consumption as well as average savings in the 8- 15% range. Rick DeMarco, VP and General Manager of ActivTek, put the unit on display at an interview last month. The unit weighs only around 15 pounds and as of now, sales efforts are being directed at larger corporations and new real estate developments, but will also be available to individual homeowners.

While the unit is a bit pricey, at $599 dollars, the company feels strongly that the unit will cover its cost in savings over a year or two. Now is definitely the time for something like this. We’ve seen significant rise in energy costs over the years as states struggle to keep up with the demand as temperatures rise. It would be great to see developers embrace this type of technology as they attempt to build “green’ energy efficient homes. Individual home owners will benefit as well, and even though it’s quite a hefty price tag, the company seems confident that the price will be recouped quickly.
