MonaVie, maker of the premier blend of the Brazilian açai berry, announced today the launch of a new product in its line of functional beverages—MonaVie Pulse. A scientifically formulated açai infusion, new MonaVie Pulse was created to support the cardiovascular system and help maintain existing healthy cholesterol levels.

MonaVie Pulse will be available to consumers in the United States on Friday, September 26, 2008, through MonaVie’s network of independent distributors. Preview new MonaVie Pulse.

“MonaVie is pleased to introduce the first açai beverage to address the demand for foods delivering heart beneficial ingredients, as consumer concerns over heart related issues continue to increase,” says Vice President of Product Management, Jeff Graham. “What better timing than during National Cholesterol Education Month to introduce MonaVie Pulse and educate our distributor workforce on heart healthy habits which are a pivotal part of MonaVie’s health and wellness mission.”

As a companion to MonaVie Original and Active products, the new MonaVie Pulse formula is enriched with plant sterols, which studies suggest play a key factor in lowering cholesterol. The new functional beverage serves as a natural and convenient alternative to encapsulated nutritional supplements, delivering a powerful dose of antioxidants and phytonutrients that nutritionally support cardiovascular health. The heart-healthy formula contains a blend of plant sterols, resveratrol and omega 3 fatty acids.

“A daily serving of MonaVie Pulse gives you 0.8 grams per day of plant sterols, delivering the benefits you need to potentially impact the health of your heart,” says Graham.

According to the Food and Drug Administration, foods containing at least 0.4 grams per serving of plant sterols, eaten twice daily with meals for a daily total intake of at least 0.8 grams and as a part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease.

The MonaVie formula is a blend of 19 fruits, including the antioxidant-rich açai berry as the foundation ingredient. Açai contains concentrated levels of anthocyanins—a family of antioxidants that assists in neutralizing the harmful effects free radicals can have on the body. Unsaturated fats found in the açai fruit at unusually high concentrations facilitate the fruit’s antioxidant compounds.

The new product was announced at the 4-day convention which was held this week in Salt Lake City, Utah.

We’ve all seen the commercials and infomercials on TV for certain acne treatment products- they are everywhere! And it seems that everyone is coming out with their own line of acne fighting product line- it is big business. Now Avon is getting into the game as well. Their new product, the Clearskin Professional Acne Treatment System is the newest product on the block aiming to help woman young and old fight acne.

The three step system promises to clear your skin in only three short days, and Avon claims that its system is three times more effective than ProActive. The system comes complete with Deep Pore Cleansing Scrub, Clarifying Toner Pads and a Daily Correcting Lotion. Avon says that all you have to do to have healthier clearer skin is simply follow the three step program once a day- at night before bed- and your skin will look better in no time.

The system contains three of the most powerful ingredients out there that have been clinically proven to clear skin and prevent breakouts. Salicylic acid, which has been shown to reduce redness and clear blemishes, glycolic acid, which helps re-textures the skin and zinc hexapeptide which reduces surface oil on the skin and helps control overproduction of oil.

The system is a very competitive $29.99 on the Avon site, or through your local Avon distributor. I have yet to try this product, but…Avon has a very cool new feature on their site, and that is product reviews. You can check out the new Clearskin System on the site and read the product reviews from the many who have already tried the system.

Melaleuca President and CEO, Frank Vandersloot, has unveiled the vitamin supplement company’s newest product, one that he says will be revolutionary and change the supplement industry forever.

Vandersloot made the announcement this past week in front of thousands of Melaleuca representatives. The new line called “Vitality” contains Oligofructose Complex which helps keep anti-oxidants inside of the body. “We’ve never announced any product as a big breakthrough. This is a breakthrough,” said Vandersloot.

The company has been working on the project for years now, and with the help of scientist from George Washington University, they finally developed the revolutionary product that they say will help you live longer, and fight off diseases.

For years, people have been taking vitamins and mineral to increase the disease fighting anti-oxidants in our body, but recent studies show many of the vitamins and nutrients people take on a daily basis actually fight off anti-oxidants and destroy them within the body. That is where Melaleuca’s new product comes in. The company, along with scientists, has found a way to deliver the vitamins and nutrients people need without harming disease fighting antioxidants.

Melaleuca has a patent pending on the product, and the company plans to publish its findings in the near future. The company makes a firm claim that the Oligofructose Complex is the best mineral supplement available today to help the body absorb antioxidants into the bloodstream.

“It will make a lot of difference in people’s lives if they can get the right protection rather than the kind that they think they’re getting,” said Vandersloot.

If you are a daytime t.v viewer, you’ve seen the new Avon commercials, which just premiered last week, advertising their latest perhaps “miracle” product. The Avon Anew Clinical Stretch Mark Smoother ($25) is geared toward the over 90% of the female population out there who have stretch marks and cellulite.

Studies show that 9 out of 10 women have stretch marks as a result of weight loss or gain, pregnancy or sometimes just genetics. Avon now says they have a way to gradually eliminate the signs of stretch marks and cellulite. Stretch marks are discolored scar tissue that is caused by a breakdown of collagen and elastin in the skin. Regular old vitamin E, or cocoa butter cannot eliminate these marks.

Avon’s patented Trilaser technology claims to stimulate collagen and boost elastin to help correct existing marks and prevent future ones. The Anew also contains Butea, a natural plan extract that helps to fade marks.

The cream is supposed to be applied twice daily, in the morning and in the evening, and here is the breakdown week-to-week of how Avon says that the Anew product will work:
–In 2 weeks: 75% of women showed a visible improvement in length & depths of their oldest stretch marks.
–In 4 weeks: 86% of women showed an improvement in the skin tone of their stretch marks.
–In 8 weeks: 91% of women showed an improvement in the appearance of cellulite.

Many products claim to help women eliminate stretch marks and cellulite. The so called miracle cures have so far, not been found to be too effective, although messaging the body with any kind of moisturizer has been proven to help stretch marks a bit, so its worth it to try even for that. In may experience I’ve found that diet and exercise work best, but even I am tempted to try this product to see if it is a somewhat quick fix or just some extra help. I’m eager to see the first reports on its effectiveness.
