Neways International a health and personal care company, announced that they expect revenues to increase by almost 50% this year, primarily as a result of the faltering economy which is forcing people to seek a way to make extra income.

Neways, like many other direct sales and network marketing companies has seen their sales force grow due in part to the economy. The more sales reps they have out there, the more potential for higher sales.

Neways claims it is now a $750 million dollar company with over half a million distributors in over 25 countries.

The company has also announced that they will be focusing much of their efforts this year on Malaysia, where the company is slowly moving into the top three of MLM companies. The Malaysian operation were set up ten years ago and has increased every year. Revenue in 07 rose by over 24% percent over the previous year. Projections for this year are of a 23 percent increase. However, the company says that already from January through May, revenue is up 47% percent compared to the same period the previous year. Neways hopes that they can replicate their success in Japan where the company was the second fastest growing company in the past 5 years.

Many say that the MLM industry is virtually recession proof. With the economy being so poor, people are looking for ways to earn supplemental income. As more people become distributors for these companies, the more products the companies sell and profits and revenue go up. It will be interesting to see what happens when the economy recovers and people no longer see a need for extra income.

This week is National Police Week and precincts all over the country are celebrating. In Springville, Utah, the Police Department held an awards ceremony in celebration of the national week of recognition and in addition to honoring their own, they named their 2008 ”Business of the Year” and “Citizens of the Year” recipients.

Neways -a global wellness and personal care company - won the honor of being the Business of the Year. The officers chose Neways because of their continuing support of the community.

Neways continues to find ways to give back to the Springville community, including Summer Concerts in the Park, Movies in the Park as well as donating time and money to help students in the community. Since Neways has joined the Springville Community, they have sponsored the Annual All-State Utah High School Art Exhibition and have supported the Miss Springville-Mapleton Pageant.

Police Chief Scott Finlayson who presided over the ceremony, was honored to give Neways the award. While Neways has found many ways to help the community, Finlayson recognized just a portion of their contributions when announcing their choice saying, “Neways has been a great member of our community since they located their headquarters in Springville.”

It’s great to see that the global MLM companies are not only focused on global initiatives that garner a lot press and attention but are also committed to helping their own communities. Neways employs a great deal of people in the community and just last month announced a 300,000 sq foot expansion of their Springville plant. The groundbreaking will take place at the end of May.
