The Oxyfresh line of dental products has been featured in this months Modern Hygienist magazine in their modern solutions section. The magazine features the Oxyfresh travel kits ($16.75), which is a complete oral care kit that meets all TSA guidelines and can be placed in carry on luggage. A few months ago we told you about the kit, which was featured on several new inaugural fights of Virgin America Airlines.
The magazine also featured the new Breath Spray ($3.25) from the Oxyfresh Company that comes in a refillable bottle that is both environmentally friendly and non-aerosol. The spray comes in a lemon mint flavor.
Additionally, Oxyfresh is highlighting their mouthwash ($10.50) this month amidst reports that other over the counter mouthwashes have led to some discoloration of tongue and teeth. There has been much talk lately in the dental world about a recent spot on the Today show, on NBC which featured a consumer report about allegations against Crest Pro Health that their rinse contains a product that over time will stain teeth. The FDA also released a statement backing that claim up saying that prolonged use of the Crest Pro-Health products may lead to some “tooth and tongue staining”
Oxyfresh is taking advantage of Crests bad publicity and is quick to point out that their alcohol free mouth rinses are clear and non staining. The Oxyfresh formula, which contains a patented ingredient, Oxygene, eliminates odor, whitens teeth and will not lead to discoloration of any kind.
While the NBC spot did not specify any other products or ingredients that may lead to the discoloration, it is easy to see when you look at most over the counter mouthwashes that there is something in those bottles that is not completely natural. Most are bluish or green color and most contain alcohol. If you are one of the many who use these products, it might be time to switch to the CLEAR, Non Staining alternative that Oxyfresh provides.
