In some breaking pre-launch news……one of the most exciting items to hit the market in some time, is now officially in pre-launch, and many are saying that this product will revolutionize the diet supplement industry.

A new company called “My 03 World” has developed a product called FORM. This product, their flagship product, is said to have the same effects as Gastric Bypass….all in a pill.

The product acts like a sponge in your stomach, taken an hour or so before eating, the small pill, filled patent pending Microbeads, expands in your stomach, limiting the amount of food your body feels that it needs and making you feel a lot more full. The microbeads expand to up to 500 times their actual size and fill around 30% percent of your stomach. This cuts down on food and calories consumed. The pill is all natural is NOT a chemical, it is a completely safe and natural substance that is a bit like gelatin and has been proven safe and effective.

Some claims being made about the FORM pill are that it works 100% percent of the time and there are absolutely NO negative side effects. The patent pending microbeads are FDA Registered and contain no drugs or stimulants. You can still register early to become a founding distributor until 8/1/08.

I have to tell you, i’m VERY excited about this product. I’ve seen a demo with my own eyes and it is pretty amazing. I’m lucky to have a sample of the product and i will report back to you on its effectiveness as soon as i test it out. The product is patent pending and first to market. There is nothing else like it to my knowledge. And the best part is that it is all NATURAL with no stimulants or chemicals, and no adverse side effects like many diet products on the market today. The product is reportedly going to cost around $60 dollars a month, although no price has been set to my knowledge. We will report back to you and keep you up to date on this product as we learn more.

If you live in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area, you have one more incentive to get in shape for the summer…..Ralph and Cathy Oats, founders of Wellness International Network, Ltd, have announced the “Summer Shape Up” Weight Loss competition for those in the DFW area. The winner of the competition will receive a makeover, a photo shoot and a $500 shopping spree. Not a bad incentive to lose a few pounds before bathing suit season.

Wellness International has been committed to health and nutrition for over 15 years. The company is well known for their WinOmega3complex supplement as well as their BioLean Weight Loss programs.

Participants in the competition must lose at least 25 lbs to be eligible for the prize. The competition will continue for the next four months. WIN, in their commitment to helping participants lose weight, is providing free products to aid in weight loss and will help those in the competition keep track of their progress.

Wellness International will be keeping track of all of the participants as the summer goes on. This should be a great marketing campaign for them. As we’ve seen with shows like NBC’s the Biggest Loser, people like to see others achieving weight loss goals and love to follow along with them for motivation. Weight loss is a huge issue in this country and obesity is problem that many struggle with. Consumers spend thousands of dollars on products that they think will help shed pounds. If consumers see that WIN products are helping others achieve their weight loss goals, they will be eager to buy and try for themselves. It will be interesting to see how successful this campaign is and whether or not the company will try similar competitions in other cities.

quixtar_logo.gifIn a country filled with many dietary supplements and a nation struggling with obesity, Quixtar introduced its latest solution to the weight loss category called Nutrillite Slimmetry. Not unlike many products in this space, many claim to offer significant results by combining both the product and a low calorie diet or one filled with exercise. “Nutrilite is excited to include Slimmetry in its product line as it is a clinically tested and patent-pending formula demonstrating statistically significant weight loss, and more importantly, significant fat loss, in a well-controlled human study,” says Robin Dykhouse, Vice-President, Health & Beauty Research and Product Development for Access Business Group, a sister company to Amway and Quixtar, and manufacturer of Nutrilite products.

medifast2.gif Medifast (NYSE: MED) Owings Mills, MD, today announced that a study conducted by researchers at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, shows that the Medifast Program outperforms the American Diabetes Association (ADA) recommended Diet for patients with type 2 diabetes. The study has been published in the January/February issue of ‘The Diabetes Educator’. The peer-reviewed journal is the official journal of the American Association of Diabetes Educators. “This study is one of many that validate the efficacy of Medifast Meal Replacements in the clinical setting,” said Brad MacDonald, Chairman of the Board, Medifast, Inc. “Medifast continues to invest in the research and development of its products and programs to ensure that our claims to consumers are the most documented and credible in the industry”.The study compared Medifast’s effectiveness for weight control in people with type 2 diabetes against the standard ADA recommended dietary guidelines. For the study, Johns Hopkins enlisted 112 overweight or obese people with type 2 diabetes using two weight loss approaches of equal caloric prescription - the Medifast Program and a traditional reduced-calorie diet based on the ADA recommended dietary guidelines. The Medifast Program outperformed the ADA recommended diet in all categories: weight loss, adherence and biochemical outcomes. The findings suggest that the ADA recommendations should be re-evaluated.The current ADA program does not promote portion-controlled meal replacement programs in weight loss and weight maintenance for individuals with diabetes. According to the results, participants who were randomly chosen to receive Medifast lost twice as much weight and were twice as likely to adhere to the diet compared to participants following the standard ADA diet.Approximately 40 percent of the Medifast participants lost greater than 5 percent of their initial weight, compared with only 12 percent of those on the standard ADA diet. Additionally, 24 percent of the Medifast users decreased or eliminated their diabetes medication, compared to 0 percent on the standard ADA diet.

Lawrence Cheskin, M.D. F.A.C.P., director of the Johns Hopkins Weight Management Center and principal investigator of the study, felt this study was necessary and long overdue. The team at Johns Hopkins feels that it is necessary to find new approaches to weight loss for people with type 2 diabetes, because they have a harder time losing weight than those without the disease.Medifast says that it will continually participate in studies in the future, which will add even more credibility to the Medifast Brand and Programs. For more than 25 years Medifast has been prescribed by practitioners as a safe and effective program that yields significant results and has been proven to provide significant weight loss of 2-5 pounds per week.

Thousands of physicians have recommended Medifast since 1980 and millions of consumers have realized the health and wellness benefit of the program. The publication of this study adds to Medifast’s already stellar reputation in the medical community. To view the study, click here.
