Wellness International Network, Ltd.,the health and wellness company known for its philanthropic endeavors as well as its weight management and nutritional products, is now setting out to help victims of the recent hurricane in Texas. Hurricane Ike struck southern Texas last month killing 51 people, and displacing hundreds of others.

Wellness International Network has teamed up with a local church in Houston, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston to get much needed supplies to those who are homeless and in need. WIN has donated over 750 bottles of WINSalon Hydra Therapie Shampoo, Conditioner, and Body Cleanser.

Both the church and WIN, a Plano, Texas based company, are dedicated to helping those in need in Texas, especially in the wake of Hurricane Ike. The category 2 storm left thousands homeless and without basic items necessary for day-to-day life.

“We understand the importance of reaching out to others and emphasize that vision here at Wellness International Network,” shares Ralph Oats, WIN Founder. “Cathy and I started Wellness International Network for people to realize their true potential, and we believe helping others is an important part of that reality.”

This isnt the first time WIN has been giving to other organizations. As we reported last month, the company conducted a fund raiser for Wipe Out Kids Cancer Foundation which was a big success.

Wellness International Network has once again partnered with Rainbow Days, an organization that helps at risk children in their hometown of Dallas Texas to help needy children prepare to go back to school. WIN has been dedicated to helping Rainbow Days for over 15 years support and aid the children in the Dallas area.

This year, WIN collected school supplies for over a month. Employees donated pencils, crayons, notebooks, folder, markers, paper and backpacks to ensure that all of the children helped out by Rainbow are set to start school in the fall.

Ralph and Cathy Oats, founders of WIN, have instilled the giving spirit in all of their employees. This year, the WIN employee who organized the drive, Jeanette Camp, felt that it was her duty to give back not only to her community, but to WIN for helping her achieve her own personal goals. Not only has she been an employee of the company, but she also uses the WIN products, which recently helped her lose over 80 pounds. Jeanette says that, “Cathy and Ralph Oats, and a lot of us, have experienced others lending a helping hand, so at Wellness International Network we embrace opportunities to help others.”

In past years Wellness International has donated clothes and jackets in cold weather months, as well as donating time and money to support Rainbow Days in their life skills programs and alcohol and drug prevention programs.

In the past, Wellness International Network has donated clothing, keeping homeless children warm in the winter, to Rainbow Days, which facilitates local life-skills support groups and drug and alcohol prevention programs.

WIN’s philanthropic efforts do not end there. WIN supports St Judes, The Wheelchair Foundation, and Hearts Together for Haiti. On their website you can donate to another cause close to their hearts, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, which WIN and the Oats have been raising money for many years.

There have been so many stories recently about companies closing without warning, embroiled in fraudulent practices, and lawsuits, that it is so nice and refreshing to hear about a company doing something good not just for their community, but nationally.

Wellness International announced that their founders, Ralph and Cathy Oats, have established a program to help doctors to incorporate Wellness products into their practices and focus on preventative health care. The program, called the Physicians Health and Diet Program will give doctors and outline to incorporate Wellness Products into the lives of patients to aid in preventative care.

“Our products have always centered around prevention and giving people physical and mental wellness,” states Ralph Oats. “Doctors love recommending our products because of the results they see in their patients. They start enjoying active, healthy lives.”

Health care costs in this country have risen dramatically over the years, with many diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure claiming thousands of lives of year. All of these diseases, with proper nutrition and health care, can be prevented. Wellness International feels that by providing their nutritional products as well as weight loss supplements to doctors through this program, they can help the doctors introduce these ideas to the patients, potentially saves thousands of dollars in health care costs, as well as many lives.

Wellness International has a wide array of products that aid in heart health, joint health, fitness and anti-aging. Their number one seller, BioLean is a nutritional supplement that aids in weight loss.

No word yet on when the Plano, Texas based company will begin to offer this program or where it will be offered, but it’s a great idea and hopefully doctors will use the opportunity to increase awareness about how by maintaining your health, you can prevent many of these diseases from affecting your life.
